LUMINESCENCE was originally comissioned by Open Field Festival in Berry.

After a successful sold out run, it was remounted for audiences in Cambewarra School of Arts.

In 2026, it gains another life at the Jervis Bay Maritime Museum.

On special nights of the year in the oceans and the forests of our South Coast home, we can stumble across glittering scenes of bioluminescence; a clump of ghost mushrooms inhabiting a dead tree stump, fireflies dancing, or we can swim in Jervis Bay with the phosphorescent plankton that twinkle like stars around us. It’s seems like magic.

Nic-Nac Theatre Company invites participants to explore and recreate these glowing worlds that inspire wonder and awe. Adults and children learn and play side by side creating the setting for a luminescent world. Each session is unique to the audience that builds and directs the interactive experience.
